Hockey Maharashtra Off to Winning Start

Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 22: Hockey Maharashtra began their campaign with contrasting victories at the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women West Zone Championship 2024 in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, on Sunday.

The Hockey Maharashtra men’s team edged past hosts Chhattisgarh Hockey in a thrilling encounter, clinching a 5-4 victory with a last-minute winner by Arjun Hargude. Kartik Pathare was the standout performer, contributing a hat trick, while Gaurav Patil scored the other goal.

Earlier in the day, the Hockey Maharashtra women’s team delivered a commanding performance, demolishing Goans Hockey with a staggering 13-0 victory. Sanika Mane was the star of the match, netting five goals. Supporting scorers included Sukanya Dhaware and Tanushree Kadu, each scoring twice, while Khushi, Asmita Ghotale, and Savitri Boragalli also contributed to the massive win.
