Bengaluru, Karnataka, October 9, 2024: Infosys, a global leader in digital services and consulting, has expanded its collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate the adoption of generative AI and Microsoft Azure among customers worldwide. This strategic partnership aims to help joint clients achieve transformative outcomes by leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance their business operations.
The collaboration between the two companies began with Infosys’ early adoption of GitHub Copilot, which significantly improved the efficiency of code modernization and development. Infosys now has over 18,000 developers using Copilot, generating over 7 million lines of code, and has launched a GitHub Center of Excellence (CoE) to promote AI-driven innovation.
As a strategic supplier to support Microsoft’s cloud and AI workloads, Infosys will integrate Microsoft’s generative AI offerings into its own solution portfolio, including its AI-powered platforms such as Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt. This integration is designed to help clients achieve cost-efficiency, scalability, and agility while driving the global adoption of AI.
Key areas of focus for this expanded collaboration include:
- Financial Services: By combining Infosys’ expertise with Microsoft’s AI capabilities, financial institutions can innovate and streamline operations more efficiently.
- Healthcare: Infosys’ healthcare platform, built on Microsoft Azure, leverages AI/ML to optimize patient care and reduce operational costs.
- Supply Chain: With Azure OpenAI services, Infosys’ solutions will help businesses improve supply chain agility and operational efficiency.
- Telecommunications: The collaboration will enhance connectivity and customer experiences using generative AI and AI-driven operational platforms.
- Customer Service: Infosys’ AI-powered customer engagement platform, Cortex, integrates Microsoft’s generative AI to provide personalized support for customer service teams.
These solutions will be made available on the Azure Marketplace, offering customers additional flexibility and support through Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitments (MACC).
In addition to these initiatives, both companies are focusing on the responsible use of AI. Infosys is contributing to the development of ethical AI guidelines through its Responsible AI Office, part of Microsoft’s Responsible AI Partner Initiative.
Anand Swaminathan, EVP and Global Industry Leader at Infosys, expressed confidence that the partnership will deliver exceptional value across key sectors like finance, healthcare, supply chain, and telecommunications, empowering organizations to thrive in the era of generative AI. Nicole Dezen, Chief Partner Officer at Microsoft, also highlighted how this collaboration will transform industries and deliver new business value by leveraging the power of AI.
