Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kamaljeet Sehrawat, contesting from West Delhi, expressed strong confidence in her victory, asserting that there is no significant competition from the opposition in this year’s Lok Sabha elections.

On the day of the vote counting, Sehrawat shared her optimism, stating, “Today is a significant day for the entire nation, as we await the results of the elections. I believe the people have voted for us based on the developmental work we have done over the past 10 years.” She expressed gratitude for the public’s support, particularly highlighting the resilience of voters who cast their ballots despite the intense heat.

Sehrawat emphasized that the BJP’s work over the past decade and its manifesto promises have set it apart from the opposition, which she claimed lacked a clear agenda. “There is no real competition; the opposition has been fighting for its existence,” she added, stressing that the BJP and its allies have based their campaign on substantial development and fulfillment of promises. She expressed confidence that the outcome will favor the BJP, with a high percentage of their 2014 and 2019 manifesto promises already achieved.

With tight security in place, the counting of votes for the 543 Lok Sabha seats commenced, marking a crucial moment for leaders across the political spectrum, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent BJP figures like Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

The BJP, aiming for a third consecutive term in power, has been predicted by exit polls to secure a majority, including further gains in states like Odisha, West Bengal, and the southern regions.

The counting for the legislative assembly elections in several states, including Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, is also underway.
